I was not blessed with the fullest lips, in fact, I hardly have any lips to speak of! But thankfully that’s why God made makeup, so that I can fake it!! Figured I would share with everyone how I create a fuller set of lips using a few simple steps. The silly picture up top was taken by my little guy Jack, he told me to “pucker up mommy” when I told him to focus on my lips!
The pictures follow the simple steps to fuller lips:
1. Set your lips with some pressed translucent powder all over.
2. Line just outside of your natural lip line with a very neutral lip liner color that closely resembles your own lip color. Don’t go crazy outside because it will end up looking fake, but lining just inside your natural line doesn’t do you any justice- everything in moderation right?? I used Rimmel’s Exaggerate liner ($5) in color “natural” appropriately enough (although this color might be long gone, try “eastend snob” if you can’t find “natural”!
3. Fill in your lips with a rosey gold lipstick. I find that a touch of gold adds some warmth to your lips which in turn looks naturally plump. I used Estee Lauder’s “sugar honey” long lasting lipstick ($22). Blot your lipstick with a kleenex atleast once, then apply again, and blot AGAIN. This helps with staying power and keeps the lipstick color not so blaring.
4. Finish with two products.
- A high gloss lipgloss placed just in the center of the upper and lower lip. I have on Tarte’s Inside Out lipgloss ($21) in color “Om” – kind of a sheer lilac shimmer.
- Place a highlighting product, such as Benefit’s High Beam ($24), right above the Cupid’s bow on your upper lip. This creates an ever so slight halo effect on the top lip to give the illusion of fullness along with the gloss.
These steps should give your lips a naturally looking collagen boost without the collagen…unlike Lisa Rinna!!
