One common thing that I think would make most people happy, is the arrival of Friday! Friday signifies the end of the work week and the beginning of a new weekend! And who doesn’t love a good relaxing or fun filled weekend?? TGIF for sure for me today.
Here are a couple of things that have made me and are going to make me happy:
1. A great big huge rice krispy treat! This picture is of my oldest son hanging out with me at a local coffee shop. He was so pumped to get to eat a rice krispy treat at 9:30am in the morning, that his happiness was contagious and continued throughout the day! Something so basic and cheap, turned out to be the highlight of our day. I wish we adults could be made that happy and content by just partaking in rice krispy treats!
2. Spending time outside. It’s still really dang cold here in the south, but we had one day recently where it was warm enough for me and my youngest to get out on the golf course and putt around some golf balls. He obviously doesn’t understand anything about the game of golf, but that didn’t matter because he thoroughly enjoyed throwing the golf balls into the hole with no putter! There’s nothing better than being able to run freely outside, enjoying the fresh air, and disregarding the rules of an organized sport!
3. New shoes, okay, new flip flops. My sweet sis-in-law was kind enough to get me the cutest Tory Burch flip flops for my birthday! Even though it’s still below 40 degrees, the anticipation of being able to bare my tootsies and get pedicures for a good reason, makes me happy. And having a wonderful family member in my life (since I’m an only child, she’s basically like a sister I never had!) also makes me happy;-) Thanks Amy- these made this birthday a little more bearable this year!
4. Anything animal print! I am slightly obsessed with anything that has animal print in it- zebra, cheetah, cow, leopard, you name it. I like whatever you want to cover in it- as long as it’s faux. This is my new “giraffe” makeup stool for my bathroom- it will make me happy
time I put my makeup on. I’m a makeup artist, so I apply a lot of makeup to myself during the day! Heck, they even make animal print tattoo eye shadow now by Hard Candy ($10)! That could be taking the whole animal print thing a bit too far however!
What makes you happy?? It doesn’t have to be anything big or fabulous, remember, it can be as simple as a child like rice krispy treat!!!
