I am just now recovering from my Friday night out. I met a ton of good friends out at the grand reopening of our beloved Georgia Theatre here in Athens after a massive fire took it down over 2 years ago. It was a rockin’ good time to say the least, and just what the doctor ordered for this mom of three.
I thought I’d post a couple pictures of our concert adventure from Friday. My outfit influence was definitely southern rock chic. With it being so stinkin’ hot here in Georgia, I decided to base my look around denim cut off shorts, which I’ve actually been sporting a lot of lately due to the heat.
I paired my denim shorts with a heavily beaded Free People shirt, Allison Burns Faithful bag, and my old worn in cowboy boots. This faithful bag is my go-to bag for concerts, bc you just sling it across your body and makes it easy to keep up with while dancing the night away!! Since this venue was standing room only, I had to be comfy and cute at the same time- no high heels allowed;-) I was going for an all American feel (it was a southern rock band called Blackberry Smoke playing and special guest Zac Brown showed up on stage!!) with a slight bohemian edge, a la Nicole Richie.
I love this girls style, and she has shown me that I can continue to wear my many pairs of cut off denim shorts into the fall, by just doing this….
Denim is one of those fabrics that will never go out of style and can be manipulated and accessorized in so many versatile ways. I enjoyed this article on Elle.com that shows many different ideas on wearing this fabric multiple ways- from the office to a night out. And because it’s so comfy, you can have a good time wherever you are, as you can see from my face in these pictures!! My outfit is definitely not slowing me down.
And to throw a little makeup advice into this post, I kept my makeup from rolling off my face by spritzing it with Urban Decay’s All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($29). Just a few squirts of this stuff after your whole look is applied and it keeps you looking fresh for hours!
