I did a little play on words here with the word MYTH, because I finally purchased myself a tube of the famous nude lipstick by MAC with the same name. I’ve read about this shade all over the blog-o-sphere and just had to have it. Especially since nothing goes better with my beloved smokey eyes than a simple nude lippy!!

Now after I received my tube in the mail and busted it open to immediately try it on my bare lips, I was kinda shocked. It was REALLY NUDE, almost to the point of being beigey-white. That wasn’t going to really work for me and my currently pale matching skin. So I did a little recon work, and started over.

I lined and filled in my lips with my “illegal” lip liner ($19) to give my lips more of a rosey nude base. Then I tried my new purchase again, and voila! I love the satin finish of this lip color, because it’s not too matte, yet not too shiny like a gloss.

There are a ton of versions of nude lipsticks and glosses on the market, it just takes some trial and error to see which ones actually work for you. Eventually with a bit more color to my skin, I think I’ll love this shade even more as summer creeps in. However, if I were a lot fairer, this probably wouldn’t work for me and make my mouth actually disappear! But like I said, “it’s not a myth, nude lips are sexy!!” And this mama of 3 can always use a little more sexy in her life for those days when I have to deal with poopy diapers, homework, and temper tantrums!!
