This gown worn on the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra last night was a true red carpet moment. It was also proof that red is a power player color when you want to get noticed!! She certainly didn’t go unnoticed and takes my first award of the night for best dressed, AND best lip look! Wait until you see her matte red lip…
Today I’ll be sharing my 5 top beauty looks from the night and the products that can help you to recreate them and wear in your real life!
#1. MATTE RED LIPS
To get these stunning and bold matte red lips Priyanka sported with that red gown, try Chanels lip liner in “Rouge Profond” and Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous matte lip colour in “Rouge Charnel.” These are the exact products her makeup artist used on her last night!
TIP : Remember to fill/color in the lip completely with the pencil first before applying the lipstick so you don’t get stuck with an ugly ring around the mouth when your lipstick wears off!
#2. MERMAID EYES.
Emily Ratajowski made it cool to wear a smokey eye in a color other than boring black or brown! Her mermaid sea colored eyes were absolutely breathtaking. Try LORAC’s eye pencils in “navy” and “aqua” and smudge together. (The aqua color is only available online and is currently on sale for only $10, so go get it here!)
TIP : When wearing an eye this bold, keep your cheeks and lips super subtle so that your makeup doesn’t take over your face! Line the inner waterline and trace over the tear duct area with the aqua and use the navy to rim the outer corners.
#3. WARM GLOWING SKIN
Angela Bassett, you really can’t be 58 years old?!! This woman’s skin makes me think she’s more like 30 years old!! Beside the fact that her darker skin looks amazing in this bright yellow dress, Angela shows that glowing highlighted skin is always better than dull flat skin. To get a bronze-y glow like hers, try mixing in LORAC’s TANtalizer Body Bronzing Luminizer in with your foundation or even in your body moisturizer to put along your collarbone and chest.
TIP : This is one of my favorite skin products that I have carried in my makeup kit for years. Just know that a small dot of this stuff goes a long long way!! Less is more for sure.
#4. STATEMENT EARRINGS
Probably the easiest of all looks to pull off. You might not think this way, but a big statement earring can really dress up your face!! Just check out funny fearless lady Tina Fey! Her makeup and hair are very subtle but those 100 carat emerald earrings by Lorraine Swartz compliment her face so well.
TIP : Can’t afford 100 carat emerald earrings? Yeh, me neither. But no worries, try a big (affordable) tassel earring in a solid color! My favorites are from BaubleBar.com and the green ones are actually pretty awesome.
#5. BIG HAIR DON’T CARE
Kerry Washington got some major love all over social media for her gorgeous gown embracing her baby bump, but also for that big natural looking hair! With so many walking the red carpet with slicked back do’s this time, her wild locks were a breath of fresh air. Although spoiler alert, a lot of those curls were NOT natural, and were thanks to TS hair extension waves! Fake hair or not, she made us all wish we could get our flat straight hair to do this!!
TIP : Even if you can’t pull off hair this big you can always add in bundles or clips of fake hair that looks similar to your own to give it more volume – just be sure to get the natural virgin hair type like these by Euronext, that don’t shed and blend better in with your natural hair!
