I am doing a little #flashbackfriday of my first New York Fashion Week!!
This is Part 2, but if you didn’t catch my first installment you can do so by reading here, Part 1.
I miss hanging out with my New York Fashion week roomies, (from left to right above) Jessica, Lauren, and Tara. To have flown all the way from GA to NYC to room with 2 of them that I had never even met before (I knew Lauren), it sure turned out fantastic. You really bond with women when you have to share a tiny hotel bathroom! hahaha!
We are all still keeping in touch via Snapchat which is proving to be a super fun way to see what everyone is up to now that we are back to our real lives as moms, wives, and bloggers. By the way, are you following me on Snapchat yet?? It’s the obvious username : jennysuemakeup. It’s really fun.
So here are a few more pictures breaking down the end of my very first New York Fashion Week trip…
My RewardStyle outfit details:
Dress : Rachel by Rachel Roy (currently 50% off!) / Shoes : Jimmy Choo (old) similar nude pumps here / Sunglasses : Komono c/o / Red Lipstick : MAC “Russian Red” / Purse : Borrowed! Tory Burch / Ring : Kendra Scott / Earrings : House of Harlow
One of the biggest events we attended was the Reward Style party which was held on the rooftop of the Hotel Americano. Despite the light rain that happened for a brief while, it was tons of fun, lots of cocktails & appetizers, and good music. I got the chance to meet a bunch of bloggers I follow on the internet but finally got to talk to in person which was really neat!
Top : Nordstrom (sold out) Similar style here / Jeans : Mavi / Booties / Charles by Charles David / Bag : Borrowed YSL!! / Wood Watch : Jord
Of course there was a lot of fashion and wardrobe changing going on during this trip, but there was also a lot of showroom visits and EATING! Plus one casual night when we headed to Greenwich Village to watch the Georgia Bulldogs play at a local UGA bar! That was fun experiencing a little bit of home while up north!
We had the pleasure of heading to the Kendra Scott showroom and getting to see some of their new winter collection. We couldn’t photograph the new pieces because it was top secret (the photo above is their well known earrings and bangles), but I can tell you it’s beautiful and coming with a little more edginess!
Food wise we hit up street vendors for macarons and Magnolia Bakery for their iconic cupcakes…worth it. I wanted more than one but we were about to head to dinner at Nobu. Which yes, did not disappoint either for sushi. Couldn’t snap any photos in there though bc it is very dimly lit! Ha!
As I mentioned in part 1, we had the extreme pleasure of getting our hair done everyday we were there though the talented artists at the Tresemme hair lounge. This braided hair look took over an hour for the stylist to create but it was well worth it for how cool it looked…until I tried to take it down!! It literally took two of my roommates to take it down and about 50 bobby pins came out with it! Can you even believe that tiny cornrow braid down my part??
These super cool ear cuffs you have been seeing on me lots, were the perfect accent to my braided updo. My green eye makeup was created with this NYX pencil in “Tropical Green” and MAC’s “Club” eyeshadow.
We ended our trip with a Mode Media party and then the Lela Rose show rounded out the trip. This was so thrilling to actually be able to experience a real New York Fashion Week show! This collection was really girly with tons of dresses and bright colored floral prints, along with a ceiling draped in fresh tulips – no kidding. What a spectacle!!
Don’t forget my post I did on my personal Beauty Survival Guide to NYFW and check out my fashionable NYC roomies by visiting their blogs and saying “Hi!” : Lauren of Edit By Lauren, Jessica of Lipstick Heels and a Baby, and Tara of Jimmy Choos and Tennis Shoes.
Thank you for tagging along with my excursion to the Big Apple!! And have a great weekend everyone!
