I wear a watch every single day. It is an integral part of my getting ready routine and is literally as important to me when walking out of the door as putting on lipgloss and mascara! My arm feels naked without the weight of a watch on it!!
So when I was introduced to the company JORD I was intrigued and honestly a bit skeptical. Why? Because well, these watches are made out of wood. Yes, wood. Sounded a bit too casual for me and I was curious as to whether or not a wristwatch made out of something so “natural” and “outdoorsy” could go with my girly wardrobe aesthetic.
Right off the bat, I started scouring their website, www.woodwatches.com, to pick out my watch they so graciously offered to send me. I decided on the women’s maple + rose gold Sidney Series watch, $199, because I didn’t own anything similar to this coloring. And it has Swarovski crystals around the face which gives it a bit of sparkle. Shimmer and shine addition to the wood, Yes please! That’s like the best combo of casual and fancy in one accessory!
It arrived in the cutest wood box with cushion (what else would you expect? ha!) and already sized for you. They send you a ruler via email you can print off and adjust around your wrist so that you can send them your exact sizing ahead of time. I tend to wear my watches a bit looser, so I upsized my wrist a bit which I didn’t need to do because it came in a bit too big. But I was easily able to take it to a watch shop and have two links taken out. So I would advise to give them your exact wrist size, and it will come in perfectly sized, not too tight.
What I love about this watch besides the fact that it is beautiful and super unique, is that it is extremely lightweight and doesn’t irritate your skin at all. My previous watch was big, stainless steel, and heavy as all get out! This one is light as a feather.
