It’s March, and we have finally SPRUNG FORWARD…Woo hoo!! Seeing the sun more often along with warmer temps is what easily lifts my mood better than anything. Well that and a chilled glass of pinot grigio when 5:30pm hits, ha ha!
And now that longer, sunnier days are here, I’ve been preparing for it. In the theme of transitioning into this new spring season, I’ve also welcomed in quite a few new items that have been major difference makers every time I apply, wear, or look at them.
So in the spirit of sharing, I’d like to drop 5 random spring finds I tell all my friends about lately! If you have any that you also are just dying to let others know about, leave them in the comment section, I’d love to hear them.
Easy Cheek Color.
I’m totally into cream blushes lately. My dry mature skin appreciates them because they look so pretty on my cheeks the way they easily soak in and feel so hydrating. These Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek Cream Blush Sticks, $24, are truly the easiest way to get a realistic flush of color! I’m wearing shades “Werk” (dusty rose) and “Quickie” (berry) blended together here on my cheeks and lips.
Just a few swipes from the stick and a quick rub in with your fingers and voila you have happy cheeks and barely there tinted lips! This is the ultimate easy breezy spring look minus the powder! Also a great product to keep in your purse as a multi-tasker.
Initial Throw To Brighten Any Room.
I got this Bauble Bar throw/blanket, $98, for Christmas with the letter D on it (for my last name, Duvall) and I’m obsessed with it! I got it in the pink + bright orange combo which adds such a happy pop of color to my office I am in daily. But they offer so many different varieties of how to add your initial and color combos, there’s something for everyone. They make amazingly personal gifts too as I bought my sister in law one as well! Oh, and this Chill Pill pillow is also a great conversation starter 🙂 And I paid almost $60 for this tiny pillow (no regrets), and now it’s only $25!

Fun Blue Mascara.
Spring forward means I’m going to definitely be playing with more fun makeup colors. Out with the moody plums and darker shades of winter, and in with the bright and bold ones! I’ll start with this YSL Lash Clash Extreme Volume mascara, $32, in shade “Electric Blue.” Boy oh boy, does this simple colored mascara attract some attention! It lights up your lashes and gives an unexpected pop of color to your peepers. And yes, besides giving major color vibes, it gives some good volume too.
Multi-Purpose Argan Oil.
I recently worked with a client who had the most BEAUTIFUL soft and smooth skin. Then she told me she was in her late 50’s and had never had botox or fillers – just a great skincare routine. And when I asked her what the secret was to skin that supple, she said, “I swear by 100% pure Argan oil, I’ve been using it for years now!”
So of course immediately when I got home, I added to cart some 100% pure Argan oil from Amazon, $12, and have been applying it daily. The great thing is you can use it for a plethora of things – shine on your hair, and for added moisture for the hands, face, and cuticles. For the upcoming spring months I’m going to start cutting my heavier foundations with this to thin it out and give me some lighter coverage with added hydration! I love doing that with most face oils. It’s been about 3 weeks since I started using argan oil and look at my bare face – I’m not even ashamed to show it!

All Season Knit Denim Jacket
I probably own 5 denim jackets right now in all shades of blue. It’s the ultimate easy piece to throw on over anything – literally. It looks cool over a tank top, sweater, sundress, swimsuit, etc. And this Knit-Denim combo jacket, $128, from Z Supply, is the ultimate versatile piece that could be worn all season long! I need to add this piece to my wardrobe ASAP because even with spring temps on the rise, in the evenings we all need something lightweight to throw on to combat the chilly nights!
