Okay let’s try this again. I had originally attempted to get back into blogging a few weeks ago by posting my first blog post in over 8 months, back on Friday January 5th.
I promised myself I’d start slowly so I wouldn’t get burned out right out of the gate and only post once every Friday. It felt good to hit “publish” on that first post for my own website after 8 months.
I told myself I was going to keep things short + sweet and only post about my Pretty Powerful Top 5 inspirational things from that week in makeup, skincare, entertainment, etc. I would do this by sharing a few links from around the web.
Then my website got hacked. “Bruh,” as my teenage boys would say.
And when my web designer fixed it, that one and only blog post I had worked so hard on…disappeared…ugh 🙁
Was this my sign to just forget blogging forever?? Maybe. But I don’t listen to signs all the time or take them seriously, so here I am trying once again. Because I MISS doing this and one hacker isn’t going to take away my joy!
So glad you’re back again OR welcome for the first time here. Enjoy your weekend, and please come back next Friday to see what’s new here on JennySueMakeup.com.
1) It’s February 2nd and you know what that means. The groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, did NOT see his shadow so that means we are all apparently getting an early spring…I say YAY to this being a southern girl who doesn’t do well with the cold. Do you agree or are you wanting more winter weather?? If it does get warmer soon, I will be busting out my favorite self tanning mousse ASAP so I can bare these pale limbs of mine.
2) My family has a new favorite show on Hulu – Only Murders In The Building! Have you watched it yet?? Okay it’s not new, actually been around a couple of seasons, but it’s new to us. It’s wild and so well written, with plot twists and turns that you never get bored with and leaves you wanting to immediately go to the next episode. The trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and cutie Selena Gomez is an odd match, but one that works like a dream!
Speaking of Selena, have you tried her Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye brightener? It’s a magical lightweight makeup for dark undereyes that is like a veil of brightness without being heavy and cakey. Just enough coverage for the simple makeup girls that want to look fresh faced – not totally made up! It’s steel wand and whatever formula it is, makes it a pretty powerful product.
3) Super cool sneakers can make an outfit. This Layla style by Sam Edelman I recently purchased are arguably some of the most comfortable, yet chic, sneakers I’ve ever owned. And they get me the most compliments – which makes a girl feel good. Literally – these feel so good and come in a bunch of color combos! I bought the black and white combo.
4) My new favorite style account on Instagram I’m so inspired by, isn’t a size 0, 30-something blonde with a huge house (there seems to be a lot of those right??). It’s 57 year old Rasmit of @roz_creativestylist. Gosh she’s just so dang cool, and chic, and showing us how unique style can be without looking like a carbon copy on Insta where everyone is promoting the same Amazon + Target outfits. (I do like plenty of Amazon things tho, so don’t get it twisted)
She made me want to wear more oversized reading glasses so that’s why I bought these cute C’est la Vie red ones from Peepers. They make me feel pretty powerful just like this bold red lipstick does, shade “The MVP.”
5) I could sit on my Pinterest account and look up new recipes for hours! I am dying to make these Chicken Nugget Parmesan Sliders – I know my kids (and I !) would devour them and it looks so easy. I’d use the Perdue Panko breadcrumb nuggets by the way – they’re actually not terrible for you!
