Let’s break down my Amazon purchases by category…
Beauty Organization. Well organization of any kind (not just beauty), is a category of life I am not an expert in. I WANT to be organized, but it is a struggle. However, I have found 2 of my very favorite organization helpers thru random Amazon searching. These have single handily made me feel like I am not failing at keeping a tidy bathroom vanity…
Rotating makeup counter organizer , $26. First off, the rotating design is KEY to this being so handy. I have it sitting on the top of my counter, and can gently push it to rotate until I get to the product I’m looking for! This one has multiple shelves that are adjustable depending on the products that you own that you want to be able to easily and quickly grab. I mention this one first, because I belive it to be my favorite purchase that keeps my makeup drawers less cluttered!
10 piece acrylic shadow palette organizer, $23. I’ve actually had this one for over a year now and I love it. I need to go ahead and buy a second one. If you own a ridiculous amount of eyeshadow palettes like I do, this sturdy acrylic organizer allows you to see exactly what palette you want to use and keeps it safe and upright. So simple, yet so genius in my opinion. Makes for a cute and tidy display also.
Self Tanning At Home. This one might not be news to some self tanning experts, but if you have struggled to do your own self tanning at home listen up. Using our bare hands can leave the body super streaky when applying self tanner, but this inexpensive item/tool is a game changer…
The ultra soft self tanning mitt, $11. Not only does using a tanning mitt keep your hands clean and free from turning the wrong color, it also helps distribute your tanning formula with ease and EVENLY! I’ve used quite a few in my time (that were real cheap) and did an okay job. But the reasons this one has made a big impression on me is because :
- it’s soft as can be, so is an enjoyable experience to rub along your arms, legs, and torso
- it’s double sided, so you can switch from the left to the right hand which allows ease of distribution
- it has a thumb spot – yeh this is big! lots of the cheap ones don’t and make it awkward to use. being able to use your thumb is helpful when grasping around elbows and knees
- you can wash it multiple times and it doesn’t fall apart bc the construction of it is so sturdy
My favorite self tanning product of the moment is the Jergens Instant Sun mousse at $10, you can’t beat the value and how it performs without looking the slightest bit orange! (I use the deep bronze bc I want immediate gratification – ha!)
Safety + Travel + Storage Of Hot Hair Tools. Yeh, this might sound kind of boring but hear me out why this is so smart to have around if you use either a curling iron, flat iron, or both…Also if you have teenage daughters, even better…
Hot hair tools counter mat, $7. Why this is helpful to have around. It’s made of a heat resistant silicone that protects your countertops or makeup table from getting burned…which I have done before at our old home! I left with the kids while leaving my flat iron plugged in and when I returned it had left an ugly burn stain on our white countertops! I was lucky it didn’t actually burn the house down!
This is also a travel pouch in addition to being a mat, so you can throw that hot tool in there if you’re in a hurry leaving the house, the gym, or a hotel room and have no time to wait for it to cool down. It comes in really cute colors too, so I was able to buy the mint green one that matches my bathroom rug 🙂 #importantstuff
By the way, just purchased this Curlipops curling wand (to give me summer beachy waves as seen above) and it is incredible and affordable at $29!!!
Deep Cleaning Makeup Brushes. This cheap silicone mat is the key to a deeper clean for your makeup brushes…
Makeup brush cleansing mat, $4. Again, maybe not the most exciting product, but very effective!
This handy silicone brush pad (that includes a handle for your hand in the back) is the perfect way to deep clean those makeup brushes. Just add your dishwashing liquid into the mat, add warm water, and start scrubbing those brushes along the grooves until water runs clean. Boom, clean makeup brushes that will apply your makeup better than ever! Just FYI – I only use Myers geranium scented dishwashing liquid, not those pricey gimmicky makeup brush cleansers. It smells delightful, cuts the grease, and doesn’t dry out the bristles bc of the natural oils in it.
