Which is precisely why I decided to make this video and post for you all. Because there are 3 specific shades I always seem to get asked “What lip color is that? I love it!” And since most of us get our best beauty recs from friends we see wearing something we like, I figured I’d go ahead and share what my 3 most complimented nude lip colors are.
Two of these three exact shades have been around for YEARS which shows how popular and universally flattering they are as well!
So if high maintenance lips aren’t your thing, then finding the right NUDE LIP COLOR is just what your makeup bag needs.
As a makeup artist for over 20+ years, I know my way around and have tested more neutral lipsticks than you can imagine! I love them because they can be oh-so- flattering and compliment any makeup look. From the super dramatic smokey eye or a barely there fresh faced look, a flattering nude lip is a staple for all occasions.

As you can see from the video, all of these vary in finishes – from gloss, to satin matte, to super matte! So there is a suggestion for everyone. All of these nude lip colors are under $20 each – so they’re budget friendly too.
Now I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that all nude lipsticks are not a one size fits all. Meaning not every skin tone can pull off every nude.
I do believe that the three I have listed here work for a wide variety of skin tones however. The “Velvet Teddy” def works for darker skin tones to light- medium skin tones, better than the fairest skin. And the “Tiramisu” works really well for lighter to medium skin tones, but deeper skin tones might want to go for shade “Prailine” in the butter glosses instead.

1. Of course, Charlotte Tilbury “Pillow Talk” was what you were thinking I’d say, and yes it’s still awesome. Just figured at $34 a tube and it being on EVERYone’s nude list, I would give y’all some variety 😉
2. The best Charlotte Tilbury “Pillow Talk” DUPE for only $6 a tube is the Flower Beauty “Spiced Petal” lipstick. It’s rad and cheap – the packaging isn’t nearly as fab as the CT but if you literally just want the shade and could care less about packaging buy this one. And it’s harrrrd to find nowadays bc word has gotten out it’s the perfect dupe, but I found it on Walmart.com here so get it before they’re sold out too!
3. Milani “Matte Naked” lipstick really deserves a top nude spot too, bc it’s pretty darn beautiful. Opaque rich color, awesome start ratings and at $5 a tube you can’t strike out!
