{THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED AS OF July 2022} A special thank you to Wired.com for interviewing and including me in their Makeup Classes Have Gone Virtual article. This showed how resilient the beauty community has become during this pandemic!
With over 15 years experience as a professional makeup artist and working with hundreds of faces, my top priority is always to fulfill my client’s vision in any way possible. One of the services that I have been offering for over 10 years now, are my private makeup lessons. Which before March of 2020, had always been done through in-person learning.
However, once Covid 19 hit the scene in March of last year, everything in my line of work as a professional makeup artist was turned upside down and basically, all of my work came to a crashing halt.
Everything from weddings, photoshoots, to all of my local in-person makeup lessons had to be canceled.
The suggested practices of social distancing and shelter-in-place guidelines, made my face-to-face makeup sessions of any kind, impossible. It’s not exactly easy to apply makeup on someone without touching and being super close to their face, right??
So how was a makeup artist, who thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to work with and teach other women how to successfully do their own makeup, supposed to continue to make that happen?
Well thankfully, VIRTUAL LEARNING and EDUCATION have quickly become a necessary part of our daily lives.
Covid 19 made a lot of us beauty business owners think outside of the box (way out of the box!) on how to continue to assist our clients with their hair, skin, and makeup needs.
I’m thrilled to report that with the popular use of Zoom Meetings, along with my pretty awesome multi-camera DSLR setup with high tech audio and visual, I have now been able to offer my personalized makeup lessons, VIRTUALLY!
Since I started offering my virtual makeup lessons back in April of 2020, I have worked with over 50+ clients. They have ranged in age from 16 all the way to 68, and been located all over the USA from as far as Alaska to Philadelphia.
Living in Athens, Georgia, and being able to teach a new bride in Alaska how to do her own makeup for her wedding day because there was no way to get a makeup artist to do her small mountain wedding, is really phenomenal to me. I still pinch myself that I’m not limited to working with just clients here in Georgia anymore!
It’s been such a blessing in disguise and I can’t explain how much joy it brings me to coach all types of women who are all working towards the same goal. To feel CONFIDENT in doing THEIR OWN makeup.
So no more feeling stuck with what you’re doing (or not doing) with your beauty routine.
You can now work with me from anywhere, one-on-one, and finally, figure out exactly how to feel confident when it comes to creating a look you’ll love.
Who is the virtual session for?
My personalized virtual makeup lesson can be for ANY one of ANY skill level.
*Maybe you’ve been in a makeup rut doing the same thing day in and day out, and you feel that you just need an overall updated look.
*Maybe you’ve watched a ton of YouTube videos, but those suggestions and techniques just aren’t working for you because it’s not YOUR face they’re working with. You need someone to teach you what to do specifically for your unique face.
*Maybe you’ve been looking to figure out how to successfully cover those dark circles and what products to use. And right now, we cannot walk into a makeup store and start trying stuff on, so it’s too overwhelming to figure out what shades and formulas to buy on your own.
*Maybe you want someone to take the confusion out of which makeup brushes you really should be using and how to actually use them.
* Maybe your wish is to simply know what to do with all of the makeup you already own, but just never end up putting to use because you’re not quite sure what to do with it all, so you just don’t.
The options of what you’d like to learn are really endless! Wherever you live, wherever you are, my virtual makeup sessions could be the perfect solution to help you master your makeup routine.
How does the virtual makeup session work?
First, we will need to schedule and book your session. Appointments are available weekdays, Monday through Thursday anywhere from 9am to 3pm EST. Once we nail down your date and we get connected, is when the fun obviously begins!
One of the most important parts of having a successful virtual lesson will be the pre-questionnaire I’ll send your way once we set your date. This list of questions will enable me to focus directly on what is most important to you before your session begins so that I can be prepared to give you the max out of our time together.
And don’t be scared to write as much as you want and tell me all of the issues you’re having with your beauty routine! The more I know beforehand, the more I can be of help.
Once we are live during your personal session, you will have the ability to ask all the burning questions. I’ll talk you through exact practices on how to enhance your features while also sharing with you tips, tricks, and even product suggestions that will help you to streamline your makeup process. You can even practice on your own face while I am there to coach you through it every step of the way.
And obviously, we can do this all from the comfort of your home through your computer or smartphone.
Ready to get started? Let’s Go…
STEP 1:
Go to https://jennysuemakeup.wpenginepowered.com/booking-request
Request “VIRTUAL MAKEUP SESSION”
In the “Describe your Event” section REQUEST A FEW DATES + TIMES that might work for you.
In addition, let me know WHAT PACKAGE you are looking to book from the options listed below.
Continue to fill out the form and submit.
STEP 2:
Please allow up to 48 hours for me to respond to your booking request.
If there are conflicts in my schedule I will send you alternate dates/times.
I will then contact you via email and attach the questionnaire for you to complete and email back to me before your scheduled session.
STEP 3:
Prior to the session and once I’ve read over your completed questionnaire, I’ll advise you of anything additional I might want you to have available such as: makeup brushes and everyday cosmetic products you currently use.
I will also ask for you to SEND ME 2 CLEAR PHOTOS: 1. yourself without makeup and 2. with your normal makeup look applied. This gives me a clear vision of where we need to go with your current routine and changes/additions that need to be made to what I see you’re currently doing.
Payment is required via Paypal once I confirm your appointment up until one hour before your scheduled lesson.
2 VIRTUAL MAKEUP LESSON PACKAGE OPTIONS:
The 60 Minute – $175
Just the basics for the beginner or newbie to makeup. Nothing too high level, but giving you the exact techniques & product suggestions that you need for a simple polished look that doesn’t feel overwhelming to you.
The 120 Minute – $300
We cover it all and you get every single one of my tips + tricks! You can ask me how to do anything with makeup you can dream of. We cover eyebrows, multi-layered eye makeup + liner, contouring, best concealing and highlighting practices, and of course, nailing the perfect lip look for you!
This package also includes a follow-up email after your session is over where I include my personal product/brush/tool recommendations for you that I feel you could benefit from after seeing your current beauty routine. After we work together and I get a glimpse into what you’re working with, I will send you a comprehensive email with shoppable links that go straight to my product recommendations personalized to your needs. This is so that you can easily click and shop without having to guess what to look for in the future when you’re ready to update/add to your makeup selection. I even include specific shades, formulas, brands etc, that I can recommend based on your budget (drugstore, dept store, mix of both!).
Add Ons:
(1) $45 – Specific Product + Brushes/Tool suggestions BEFORE your lesson. If you are starting from zero with your beauty products, or what you have is old, and you would like ideas on what makeup products you need to buy and have on hand before your actual session with me, I can provide you with a detailed email and links to products you could purchase (depending on your budget – drugstore, prestige, or mix of both). Keep in mind if you do add on this service, it will take a bit extra time after I get some information from you, so that I can create a personalized list just for you of these suggestions. (I use affiliate links, so I may earn a small commission if you purchase these products through my links just FYI)
(2) $50 – A completely personalized face chart drawn and mailed to you to keep. This can be helpful as a visual for referring back to the look we created during your session. If you purchase the 120 minute package, you can add this on for just $30.
Referral fee: For every 2 clients someone sends my way and those referrals complete a session with me, a makeup goodie will be shipped to you! Just be sure that the person puts your first and last name in the “Describe your events” section for when booking their lesson.
Popular Topics: Each session is fully customizable, so these are just suggestions.
How to fill in and shape those eyebrows.
What colors should you be choosing for eye makeup.
How to achieve complexion perfection.
Nailing the eyebrows and eye makeup combination.
How to make your eyes look bigger OR smaller (with makeup techniques).
Where does the blush, bronzer, and highlighter all go?
INTIMIDATED BY MAKEUP?
You shouldn’t be. We are in this together. It doesn’t matter if you have never picked up a makeup brush in your life, or if you’ve been wearing makeup for years. If you feel like you’ll find value in what I have to offer, I’d be thrilled to set up your very own virtual makeup lesson with me!
(Final Note: Should either your internet connection or mine be unsustainable to conduct a session online, we can either reschedule or cancel your session. If canceled due to poor internet quality, a full refund will be issued back to you. Once the lesson is completed there will be no refunds, thus the decision must be made in the beginning of the consultation.)
