I do love a good hair day. But most of the time that’s only gonna happen the first or second day after a washing. The rest of the days to follow it’s a braid, top knot, or baseball hat kinda day.
Here’s a little unknown fact about me…I really dislike doing my hair.
I love, like LOVE, doing my makeup everyday, and a full face of it. (kinda makes sense me being a makeup artist and all, right??) But the act of washing, drying, and styling my mane is just not one of my favorite things to do.
But I do have 5 products that I really can’t live without when it comes to the ole head of hair! Ones that make doing the hair experience more enjoyable!
A couple are are high quality (and not cheap) but then a few are super affordable. However, what they all have in common is they’re easy to use and super effective.
You can check each one of them out below.
HYDRATE + TONE REVIVING AND LAVENDER LUMINESCENT PLATINUM SHAMPOO, $5.50
(1.) Ever since I turned my all dark hair into a balayage with lighter sections, I have been worried about the pieces turning brassy. This sheer purple shampoo not only smells delightful and soothing like lavender but so far it has helped keep brassy at bay.
(2.) I will preface this purchase by admitting that I did not purchase this with my own money. It was a gift from my wonderful in-laws for Christmas 2018. I had always wanted one to help me tackle my thick long hair, but could’t seem to pull the trigger due to the price. I’m very thankful they gifted me this because it’s been an awesome hair tool that makes drying time feel faster than past driers and it’s lightweight to hold. But if you just can’t justify this price, the InfinitiPro by Conair gets excellent ratings for under $50.
THE WET DETANGLE AND SHINE BRUSH, $8.00
(3.) Now of all the hair tools, this is the one I use every single day. How I knew this was a really good brush was when I tried it on my daughter’s sensitive head of hair and she didn’t squeal! It detangles with less force than usual and I do feel that my hair has the appearance of being a bit more shiny than the other brushes I have used.
KEVIN MURPHY SHIMMER + SHINE REFLECTING MIST, $32
(4.) This product smells just as good as it looks. The lightweight finishing mist has light reflective technology and leaves no oily residue or added weight that some other shine treatments do. If you like to know your haircare ingredients, this one is packed with Vitamins C and E, Baobab, and Bamboo. I was introduced to this by a local hair salon owner I worked with on a wedding – thanks Donna! She not only sprayed it onto everyones hair, but also their skin for the slightest golden glimmer (and mine, which caused me to go that Monday and purchase myself a bottle!). It’s been a little hard to find online for me to link however I found it here on Ebay.
BATISTE HINT OF COLOR DRY SHAMPOO, $9.00
(5) Dry shampoo runs a close second to my most used hair product because I actually wash my hair only twice a week. Since I have balayage my roots are still brown and I have mad amounts of gray hair popping up all the time. This Batiste dry shampoo helps to take away the grease and cover my grays without turning it white. I also love the Naughty Scented one because I dig good smelling hair!
Have you tried any of these before and what did you think of them?
