Summertime Face Necessity…Waterproof Makeup!
To be quite honest, I wear as much waterproof makeup products as possible all year round. Usually waterproof = long wear. And I always want long wear makeup that lasts.
From waterproof mascaras that actually stay ON your lashes (not your eye beds) when you’re sweating uncontrollably, to lip colors that stay put even when enjoying a wet icy snow cone, sweat-proof makeup is a MUST in the heat of the summer!
Finding those products that seriously don’t budge in the 90+ degree temps that have arrived here in Georgia can sometimes be difficult. But I’m gonna help you out by recommending 5 I have found that that are up for the challenge!!
Luckily MOST of my suggestions are in the drugstore price range with the exception of one (can I get a Hallelujah?!).
So today I’m sharing with you babes 5 awesome waterproof products. Let’s dive on in, the water isn’t going to matter one bit…

#1 L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Last waterproof pencil liner, $8
Eyeliner that travels all over your face in the heat is no fun for anyone. This pencil from L’Oreal is really great and a wonderful waterproof alternative to my pricier favorite Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners. (the best thing about the UD ones is that they have a TON of color options).
The L’Oreal formula is soft enough that it doesn’t drag harshly across your lid and has great pigment payoff. I’m wearing the brown shade in the above pic but wanting to try the bright purple soon!
#2 Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Chrome, $10
This creamy liquid eyeshadow doesn’t budge y’all. As in, once it touches your eyelids you better blend FAST because it’s gonna stick in a hot second. I was incredibly impressed by this stuff. Tip for applying it : I took a fluffier shadow brush and tapped it into my eyelid because the applicator it comes with isn’t great for blending and you end up with harsh lines of color.
It would also make for a great shimmery eyeliner if you used an eyeliner brush to apply it just along the lash line.
#3 Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel (in waterproof), $9
I found out about this mascara from a bridesmaid I worked with at a wedding recently. I tell all bridal party members to come with makeup free faces so we don’t waste time taking off last nights makeup.
But this particular bridesmaid had full lashes on and claimed she had balled her eyes out at the rehearsal dinner the night before and didn’t bother to wash her face when she got home and her lashes had not budged! She had the tube with her because I had to see what this miracle drugstore mascara was. It’s not easy to get off, but if you’re in the market for mascara that doesn’t run, this is your product!!
#4 Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation, $40
Even though my skin is typically dry, in the summer it feels a bit oilier just due to how much I sweat!! So I usually switch over to a shine-free matte foundation and this one by Huda Beauty is a big fave so far. It is a full coverage foundation so if you like more sheer in the summer as I know a lot do, this one is NOT for you!!
I find it to be quite fade proof and needs little to no touch ups during the day!! I’m loving the way this one looks and it even smells good! Tons of shade options, so there’s one to fit every face, especially for darker skin tones. I’m wearing color Latte 300N just for reference.
#5 Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink liquid lipstick, $9
The Maybelline brand is really in it to win it in the sweat proof category right?!! This could be one of the BEST stay put lipsticks on the market. Now it is a matte finish so if that’s not your jam then you probably won’t love this. But this stuff stayed on while I tried to even brush my teeth!!!
The trick with any longwear lipstick and for it to not get gross and crusty, is to start with exfoliated non-flaky lips. If your lips are flaky, it’s gonna fail. DON’T apply a lip liner, that waxy barrier will work against the stay put power. And apply in a sheer layer because if you keep stroking this stuff back and forth it gets cakey.
