A full face of makeup in under 10 minutes…in the car.
It’s a skill most women should be able to nail.
I live a good portion of my life in my car. Not exactly sure the percentage, but it feels like almost 50% of my life I am in my car.
Being a mom of 3 children requires me to shuttle people around often and it’s inevitable that I find myself rushing around to be somewhere and jumping in the car with a bare face that needs (deserves) a little TLC…Tender Loving Cosmetics! Ha Ha!
I figured it would be fun to share with you what exact products I rely on to actually give me a decent makeup look all from the little cosmetics pouch I carry with me in my purse at all times. With the right makeup and some good outdoor lighting coming into your rearview car mirror, you CAN actually look pretty decent in under 10 minutes…Possibly 5 if you practice enough!!
Check out todays video as I take you step by step on my exact car makeup routine…
If you noticed, almost ALL of my makeup I carry with me is drugstore brands like Maybelline, NYX, Wet n Wild, etc. I tell ya, drugstore makeup isn’t what it used to be – it’s REALLY good quality now!
Breakdown of what you need for a full face makeup look in under 10 minutes :
SKIN – a stick foundation and concealer. A stick is significantly less messy than a liquid foundation and powder doesn’t cut it for my skin! I need more coverage.
EYES – a small trio of shadows with shimmer, a neutral champagne, brown, and light pink works for most skin tones. I swear this Wet nWild trio is one of my all time faves and it’s only $3, seriously. And if you watched closely, I used the champagne shadow as the perfect highlighter in a hurry! Don’t forget a mascara.
CHEEKS – pink cream blush
LIPS – Chapstick (always carry this) and a deep plum gloss that can be toned down with the chapstick or worn bold alone. Carrying a darker shade of gloss gives you options of dramatic or just a stain of color. I am wearing NYX extreme butter gloss in color “Toasted Marshmallow.”
TOOLS – an egg sponge and a dual ended shadow brush like this Stila one, $32, I have relied on for years. Even though I had a cheap black sponge in my bag, this Real Techniques complexion sponge is my jam and I need to get a second one for my purse!
CUTE COSMETICS BAG – my Jonathan Adler one is sold out but I love love this funny cosmetic bag from Sephora that reads, “I may not be perfect but my makeup is,” $28!
Pretty easy car makeup right?? Now I gotta go pick up my kid from ballet….
