Olympic athletes definitely have their go-to beauty products and advice that keep them looking as good as they perform!
Now us regular folks may not ever get a perfect 10 on the uneven bars or run a 400 meter race in record time, but we can learn a few beauty secrets from those females that work so hard during this most intense competition! I have been more interested than EVER this year in the Rio Olympics and of course, whenever I see a fabulous makeup look, I want to give them a virtual high five!
Just because they’re athletes doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to have a little glam moment if that’s what gives them beauty confidence!
Here some of the greatest Olympic athletes spill the beans on what products they trust to keep their faces looking in top shape…and you can shop these medal worthy makeup products below!
Waterproof Makeup. Mariya Koroleva, an American synchronized swimmer, is a hardcore Make Up For Ever fan due to their all waterproof Aqua eyeliners, $21, Aqua mascara, and aqua cream eyeshadows. I would have to say I totally agree as one who owns a couple of their stay put eyeliners that has instant color intensity with a creamy glide. When your face is constantly underwater and it’s all about having a theatrical makeup look, it’s necessary to have makeup that doesn’t slide off or run!
Stay Put Foundation. Sandi Morris, who will be competing in the pole vault, knows that being outside and training for hours on end in the blazing sun means you need SPF (sun protection) AND a foundation that stays put. Training for hours outside in the sunshine, she looks to Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow! Liquid Foundation, $36, to give her that all-day, natural looking, weightless coverage. Why haven’t I tested this stuff out yet?? It gets great reviews on Sephora.com!
Skin Necessities. Sprint runner Natasha Hastings unapologetically says she digs the boldness of anything pink on her lips, think my personal fave pink, Nars “Schiap.” But she has also been quoted as saying that she gets the most compliments when she wears this Kat Von D lavender lipstick in “Ayesha!” But when it comes to her skin, she doesn’t play around. Natasha has shared that she relies on cleansing her face with Chanel face wash, $52, and her Clarisonic Mia system, $119. I second that Clarisonic as a must have! My face wouldn’t feel its cleanest without it and I swear it has changed my skin fro the better when used every night (only once a day though!).
Everyday Lip Color. Gymnast Gabby Douglas has 3 things she always carries in her gym bag from hair ties, to pressed powder for any shine, and her favorite go-to gloss color on and off the gym mat, is Cover Girl Colorlicious Gloss in “Give Me Guava.” Yes this will be a shade I must buy after scouring the internet for swatches – looks super wearable for all skintones and who doesn’t love an inexpensive drugstore lippie??
Who has been watching the Olympics in Rio? I have been SO into it this year and am going to be kind of sad when it’s over! My personal fave sport has been swimming so far. What’s been yours?
