Summer beauty products I can’t live without. Seriously…can’t survive.
I’m not exaggerating to say I have tried almost every product out there at one time or another. Hey, that’s the tough life of a makeup artist and beauty blogger!! As the temperatures are starting to rise, I wanted to share the TEN that have become my holy grail of makeup and skincare.
*VIDEO ALERT* If you’d like to see the fun video my hubby created of the start to our beach trip (where I packed most of these items for!) scroll to bottom of this post.
#1. BB Cream : You have hopefully heard about my love for this stuff, Garnier BB Cream Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector with SPF 20, $10. It’s the easy skin solution during the summer because it’s lightweight, includes the must have SPF, and gives the most beautiful skin for a great price.
#2. Waterproof Mascara : I have Snapchatted lots about my newest obsession with Maybelline’s Volum’Express The Rocket Waterproof Mascara, $7. I was given this recommendation by an office of dental hygienists whom all had a tube in their purses, so I had to give it a try. So glad I did – this stuff is awesome. And of course, waterproof totally necessary during the months I sweat and will be in water with the kiddos a lot!
#3. Hair Tool : My Conair Curling Wand, $18 is the jam. I have used it for years, and it gives me the BEST waves which I like to wear when my hair is a bit dirty because it looks better with body. Which sets me up for my #4 product I use in conjunction with my wand…
#4. Dry Shampoo : Batiste Hint of Color in Dark Brown, $7, is the best dry shampoo I have ever used. It smells good, and the hint of dark brown color doesn’t show up white in my roots like a lot of dry shampoo does. I use this stuff more than I should probably admit.
#5. Sun Hat : Sole Society Wide Brim Straw Hat, $35. This hat (I’m wearing in the top photo), saved me while at the beach last weekend. It’s got a western-y feel that I could wear with swimsuits and/or with cutoff denim and cute tank top. Why do I consider this a summer beauty product? Because it’s wide enough to cover my face so the sun doesn’t get a hold of my skin – which equates to sun protection which means less wrinkles and sun spots! Yay!! You can get my blush kimono here.

#6. Self Tanner : Because we all know the real sun is NOT good for your skin and ages it quicker than anything!! I am obsessed with the St. Tropez Classic Self Tanning Mousse, $32, because it dries super duper fast and gives a realistic non-orange bronze glow! And it doesn’t smell gross – big plus. (If you haven’t seen my fun first spray tan video, check it out!)
#7. Bright Summer Lip : Butter London Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon, $20, are some of my fave bold lip color choices! Trout Pout is a super fave summer beauty lip love – with it’s bright coral shade. These things pack so much color on but feel amazing on my lips. And right now Nordstrom.com is having a lot of beauty gift with purchases ending May 8th, and Butter London is included – so buy yourself a couple shades to get the gift! (Plus triple points for all card holders) I also did a blog post showing you all of the colors I own on my lips here!
#8. Neutral Summer Gloss : My undying love for NYX Intense Butter Gloss in “Tres Leches”, $6 is no secret. Remember this post here I did on it? It’s cheap, it’s the perfect nude for all skin tones, and looks plain awesome on. That is all, get yourself one.
#9. Summer Shadows : The Naked palettes by Urban Decay are my all time faves. And their latest, The Smoky Palette, $54, has become my go-to. Even though when you hear the words, smoky, you most likely think dark, but it’s got some great golds, browns, champagnes, and silvers in it that work great for summer when used alone! Plus it’s got awesome neutral matte shades too. Here’s a look inside I did.
#10. Classic Sunnies : Ray Ban Aviators, $150, will NEVER go out of style, I’m convinced. I have had mine for years and years and they always go with every outfit. Plus, they now come in so many cool mirrored colors, I’m considering jumping on that trend bandwagon with a green pair!

And for an honorable mention, or #11, I can’t leave out the nail color of the summer, Essie’s “Bikini So Teeny!“
I would love to hear what your favorite go-to summer beauty products are!
