My biggest complaint about winter time is the dry air and how dehydrated my skin gets.
If you have been following me for awhile, this comes as no surprise to you. I’m ALWAYS griping about my alligator skin and chapped lips!! And during this cold season, humidity levels drop, and your heating system can actually make the air in your home too dry, making it uncomfortable for you. Who knew?!
So how can you FIX dry air discomfort?
Simply add a humidifier to those areas where you spend the most time. Which in my case as a work from home blogger and makeup artist, that room would be my OFFICE. Keeping the correct humidity level in your home is important to your well-being and the right amount of moisture can be beneficial when used in addition to my normal skincare routine of face washing and moisturizing.

Incorporating the Honeywell MistMate Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier into my home.
This stylish cool mist humidifier adds moisture to the air to eliminate dryness associated with these cooler temps right now and to help with my dry chapped skin, lips and dry sinuses. Dry sinuses are also a big issue in my household and I’m not the only one who suffers from them! I have been known to transfer this humidifier into my daughter’s room when she has her coughing jags.
Why does ultrasonic matter?
From the HoneywellPluggedIn.com site:
“A nebulizer vibrates at ultrasonic speed, breaking water droplets into fine visible mist that you can see. This type of humidifier is filter free, but some will accept an optional demineralization cartridge that helps to remove minerals from the water, reducing white dust in hard water areas. Ultrasonic humidifiers are generally very quiet but you may hear the sound of water dripping as it falls into the nebulizer.”
Here’s what you can expect from the MistMate :
- compact design & portable (I love that it’s not obnoxiously huge and pretty basic so it doesn’t clash with my home decor)
- no filter to deal with
- equipped with a moisture control settings
- the unit quietly delivers cool, visible mist customized to the user’s preferences
- designed for a room up to 12’ X 12’ (my office or kids room!)
- the MistMate can run up to 20 hours on a 0.5 gallon tank
- available in shades of red, blue, white or black
- the MistMate brings soothing comfort to any room and can also help with static electricity!
I have enjoyed adding this into my everyday skin regime. Are you a current user of a humidifier in your home? I’d love to know in the comments below.
