I recently was asked to give makeup tips for the over 40 crowd and be a contributor for the entire month of November to the print publication, Closer Weekly.
Closer is a celebrity magazine that focuses on the ever popular 40+ in Hollywood. I was their featured beauty expert and answered popular questions on beauty and gave my advice for the age group that is going to be me in 2 years!
I was thrilled because this is right in my wheel house as a makeup artist who loves working with all ages, but especially helping women as they mature. This is because our face shape, skin tone, and features go through changes that we sometimes like, or dislike, but we all deserve to know best practices for enhancing and embracing our aging faces.
There are a lot of over 40 women in Hollywood I would be quite okay with looking like such as Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Salma Hayek to name just a very few!!
To be honest, I actually like my face better now than I did when I was 21 and in college. This is probably because it has slimmed down a bit (due to not drinking as much beer and eating pizza as I did in college, if we are getting real!) and I have finally gotten into a great eyebrow routine. Even my husband tells me he thinks I look better now than I did when he married me! I think that is a compliment, wink wink.
