One of my favorite looks for winter are flushed cheeks!
It is super simple to achieve and looks so fresh faced when the winter temps hit and your skin might be feeling dull and colorless. And you don’t have to actually step out into the freezing temps to get this look:) I like to keep the rest of the makeup super simple so as not to take away from the bold cheeks, which are an instant face pick me up!!
You can really use any shade of blush you want to get this effect, just as long as you apply it correctly and balance out the rest of your makeup – go red, bright pinks, or rosy coral like I did here!
Here’s how to get this rosy windblown look.
- Choose your cream blush you are going to use. Creams look more realistic and fresh as opposed to a powder blush. I used “crisp” and “caramel” from my Balm cream palette. (It’s an all time favorite!) Tarte cheek stains are also fantastic for creating this look.
- Put your finger up beside the sides of your nostrils to see where to start your cheeky look.
- Pat a rosy coral cream blush onto the cheeks using your middle finger, but don’t blend it all the way in and leave it fairly bold. I applied it in a large teardrop shape, with the largest bottom of the teardrop on the apples of the cheek then the graduated part goes towards the ear.
- Finish the look with lots of mascara, a messy top knot, and warm colorful blanket scarf around your neck to keep up with the “chic!” windblown effect! This blanket tassel scarf I’m wearing comes in a ton of colors and is only $12!! It makes a wonderful holiday gift.
By the way, Can you believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow?? I can’t, and I’m hosting my family at my house for the first time ever this year! I haven’t even started cooking, but just praying it all falls into place since I have delegated lots to everyone coming. I’m making banana pudding and cornbread. I left the turkey to my aunt – it was just too much pressure:)
Since I’m going to be super busy tomorrow with cooking and trying to be a good host, I’m thinking this simple makeup look would be just perfect for the festivities don’t cha think?? I need to be more focused on the fam rather than my makeup!! I hope you all have a wonderful, filling, and yummy Thanksgiving Day with your family and friends!
(Just for fun – here are some Thanksgiving quotes on WINE, PRAYING, GRATITUDE, FOOTBALL.)
