I love a subscription box that gets delivered right to my door. I mean who doesn’t enjoy the anticipation of opening up a postage gift full of goodies??
This most recent beauty box edition from Redbook Magazine that wound up on my front door step has the most awesomely good products included inside! So many subscription boxes send sample sizes that last maybe a couple of days. Who can really get a grasp on whether or not they truly like a product after just a few days from a tiny squeeze pouch?? But not this Red Box, it’s got a bunch of the real deal inside!
I was thrilled to find 4 beauty and skincare products by brands I am familiar with and trust but that I have never used before…
Here is what showed up inside my Red Box :
- Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure – two colors and one shiny top coat. It came with “In Full Blue-m” (a cloudy blue) and “Poof! Be-gonia” (coral orange). What makes the polish special? It’s got 7 benefits in 1 bottle – base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, color, top coat, chip resistant and gel shine. I immediately went for the blue shade, and seriously have been wearing this same color for over a week with only 2 tiny chips on my left hand! The staying power has been off the charts for this busy mom and makeup artist whose hands are always in water and makeup remover!!
- Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant – How did they know I needed a new deo?? This is the only one that was a bit smaller than a normal sized deodorant, but this product is proof that good things come in small packages! I have tried most every formula on the drugstore shelves and haven’t found a deodorant that truly works great for me. Except for this one. I tested it on a recent hiking trip with my family and it kept me bone dry and not sticky or smelly! I will totally be buying this for myself once this one runs out.
- Vaseline Serum Advanced Relief – I am a body lotion junky. Especially during the upcoming winter months when my skin craves moisture! This one has a touch of Vaseline jelly which gives it a hydrating silky feel. But my favorite part is the most gorgeous scent of vanilla, rose, and amber all mixed together. It’s a comforting blend of smells.
- Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant – I have been a big fan of Paula’s Choice skincare for a while now. I’m sure you’ve seen a few of the posts I have done on her stuff in the past. And although this product has the word “exfoliant” included in its description, this one does so without any harsh scrub or beads. It’s a thin liquid water-like product but exfoliates with the inclusion of the ingredient BHA – beta hydroxy acid, which is oil soluble. It penetrates deep and helps to remove dead skin cells in clogged pores, thus helping to improve your skin tone and give radiant skin. (I did not include another bare faced pic of myself because, well, there’s not much you can see to the naked eye after only using this for over a week. But I can tell you that this feels super gentle on my skin and I am using it day and night, but being sure to apply sunscreen over it during the day.)
