Nothing gets me out of my ‘beauty boredom’ as easily as an unexpected pop of colored eyeliner!
I like my brown eyes but sometimes I get a teensy bit bored with the typical brown and black eyeliners when choosing my makeup for the day. They just seem to blend in with my eyes instead of accentuate them.
This is one of my favorite makeup tips for women when they want to try something new and fresh with their makeup but don’t want to take the time to create a smokey eye or to contour, or even to use multiple eyeshadows. A single swipe of bold colored pencil along the upper lash line (in a contrasting color to your eye color) is a simple way to get a WOW factor without looking like you’re trying too hard.
Colored liner suggestions for your eye color :
Blue eyes – reddish brown & copper or gold
Green/hazel eyes – eggplant & navy
Brown eyes – you can wear most any color! forest greens, purples, blues, oh my!
Grey eyes – grassy green & sapphire blue
What are my favorite colored eyeliners? I always suggest a cheap version, especially since this is probably going to be out of your comfort zone at first and an experimental look you’ll only wear occasionally. The NYX Studio Liquid liners (like I’m wearing above) are wonderful at $5 a piece bc they have lots of bright choices and a great skinny tip to draw the most precise lines. I buy multiple shades at a time!
If you’re not good with liquid, try the NYX Slide On Eye pencils, $8. They have even MORE fun color options than the liquid and are super easy to apply and smudge for a softer look if that’s what you’re after.

We have gotten some awesome-sauce response to the most recent episode 006, where I had to rise at 4:15am to catch a flight to NYC and Scott decided it would be a great time to record me in my groggy getting ready state:) Take a listen and let me know what you think!**
