Have you heard the BIG news in makeup yet?? Wait for it…Urban Decay is bringing out a new eye shadow palette into their uber popular Naked collection. And it’s being labeled as the holy grail of palettes to create probably my favorite look ever – the smoky eye. Simply named, NAKED SMOKY, $54. I have the original, #2, and #3. Honestly, I can create a pretty hot smoky eye with all three. Or is it smokEy eye, I don’t know, it’s kind of like spelling the word grey or gray, who knows which way is correct?! Each palette contains darker shades towards the end of the 12 color options that allows you to do so.
However, this one, dropping July 8th, promises to dominate all other shadow palettes you own. Check out their short teaser video here.
Most people haven’t had the pleasure of seeing or touching this palette yet, but the hype that surrounds it seems pretty awesome. I mean, you can put yourself on a freaking wait list for it!! I am very happy with the three I own above but can always make room for more palettes in my life – especially the Urban Decay ones. My favorite, by far, is the original one, due to its inclusions of warm browns and golds. Then it goes in order – #2 is my second fave followed by #3 which is more rose golds (better for fair skinned gals). If you don’t own any of these Naked palettes yet, you might want to treat yourself to one.
The beauty of the Naked palettes is that they contain a good mix of mattes, shimmers, velvet and satin finishes, warms, cools, and dark shades. Aaaand…they come with a double ended brush that’s really nice – no cheap foam plastic applicators here. Oh, and this newest one, will come with a booklet of four ways for you to wear the colors – basically smoky eye cheat sheets!
