My Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest feeds have been overloaded with all of the New York Fashion Week coverage for Spring 2014. And to be honest, most of the images clothes and beauty wise, seem unrealistic for the everyday Jane to pull off. But then again, it’s fashion. It’s not to be taken literally.
I know NYFW is all about the showmanship and entertainment factor so I’m embracing it as obvious eye candy. I mean if those runway shows looked like an Old Navy commercial, no one would “like” or retweet them right?? I haven’t ever actually been, but I seriously feel like I am there sometimes with all of the real time social media presence!!
There are a few beauty looks I’ve seen throughout the images bouncing around that I’m thinking could get me jazzed about spring and could easily be translated into the real world…
and white based pink lips (this lip gloss in “Turkish Delight” would be perfect!)…I’m in.
I could actually see this look being appropriate for this winter while wearing a chunky sweater and leggings! I might even play around with individual falsies on the lower lash line for fun!
I’m always a sucker for the braided headband (remember this post) so I’m glad to see it sticking around for spring. And I love the copper brown rimmed eyes with the sheer lip.

The messy updo with tiny flowers in the hair could be cute if you’re reeeally young. I actually like this idea better than the flower crowns we saw way too much of this summer that was a bit too hippy chic for me. The super thick black liner on the upper lid always looks chic.
