As a mom of 3, I don’t always feel as “edgy” and “hip” as I’d like to most of the time. We watch a lot more Disney Channel than MTV in my house. But after receiving a batch of beautiful British goodies from butter London from their Rock Your Colour collection, I had a feeling that was all about to change…
I was verrry hesitant when I saw the pink eye liner, because of course when I first saw it, I just assumed it was a lip liner. Silly conservative me! But I’m willing to try anything once. I kept the shocking pink just on the upper lash line which turned out to be quite a pick me up shade with just enough shimmer. And can we talk about the softness and literal, butter-smooth-like application of this pencil, it is gorgeous!! I love love a soft eye pencil that you don’t have to drag hard to distribute the color. And the staying power is phenomenal to boot.
The mascara was not impressive with two coats. But once I applied that third coat, it was like BAM!!! The purple just popped like crazy!! I cannot wait to wear this purple again. And I felt it truly highlighted my brown eyes just enough.
Overall I am delighted with this fun and funky collection. I’ve got a couple more products they sent me that are a bit more tame which I will share with you later on this week.
Of course pink and purple eyes aren’t for the faint of heart, but either of these products would look fun enough worn separately with a more “safe” combo. Think pink liner with traditional black mascara or the purple mascara worn with just brown shadow and no liner. Who knows, I might actually try the pink eye pencil as a punchy lip liner and see what happens…livin’ on the edge right?!!
