My key to pulling off an orange mouth and not looking like a cartoon character is to highlight the features of the face without adding a lot of other colors. This means using a white pencil to highlight along the brow bone + around tear duct area + above the top of the cupids bow of the lip. This makes eyes and lips pop without competing with the bright lips and it makes other features look sharper. Just be sure to blend in the pencil like crazy once applied, I use the warmth of my trusty finger to do so!
And to reiterate how HOT orange makeup is right now, MAC Cosmetics has even come out with an All About Orange Makeup Collection which will be composed of various shades of the color from tangerine to softer corals. From the ad campaigns it looks very hip, energetic, and modern…but then again when isn’t MAC hip and modern??

I was so thrilled and honored to have been asked by this chic mommy website that highlights moms across the globe (some other moms they’ve featured include Rachel Zoe, Ivanka Trump, Giuliana Rancic!) to showcase a weeks worth of my style. Even though I don’t own any Prada or Chanel, okay wait, I do own Chanel blushes, brushes, and lipsticks!, this site embraces that “style is measured by taste, not price tag.” I love that. If you check out my diary, there’s a lot of Target items mixed in with some Michael Kors – plus I list one makeup item per outfit, of course!
This weekend I’m back to making brides beautiful (remember my 5 bridal makeup must haves?) and hoping that the rain comes to a stop here in Athens because it’s been a wet wet week and I’m ready for some sunshine!! But if the sun doesn’t come out, I’ll just compromise and wear my sunny shade of orange lipstick to bring out the brightness!!
