I know, this is a bold statement. But I literally think I’ve found a shade of eye shadow that looks good on just about everyone, seriously. From brown eyes, to blue, to hazel, to grey, this one flatters all peepers…
{“Ondine” by Nars, $24.}
This shadow is a very wearable neutral with a bit of pizazz and ever so subtle shimmer. I’ve actually owned this color for over 5 years and they still keep it around the Nars family – which means it must be working for a lot of people! I would explain it as a deep taupe with a hint of plum/burgundy with a bronze like shimmer. It can be used wet or dry also which gives you options!
In addition to Ondine, the other products I’m wearing are:
EYES:
MAC “blanc type” shadow all over the lid (a matte ivory shade), Lancome’s “Black Coffee” eye liner ($26) on top and lower lashlines with the Ondine shadow layered on top of the liner. This actually makes the subtle shimmer of the shadow show up even better!
SKIN & CHEEKS:
L’Oreal True Match Foundation in N2,
Physician’s Formula Youth Boosting Illuminating Powder, and blush by MAC “Fleur Power.”
(are you getting tired of hearing that I wear this blush almost every.single.day??)
LIPS:
Rimmel London Exaggerate lip liner in “eastend snob” and Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in “pink cognito” (available in June).
As a woman/mom who is always on the go and in a rush to get ready, this is one of those shades that I can rely on to give my eye color just enough boost without looking too “out there” or like I’m trying too hard! And as a makeup artist, I also know that it works for most of the women I work with who want an easy to wear flattering shadow that isn’t the usual boring brown.
