I couldn’t help but post this picture of 45 year old Nicole Kidman looking about as stunning as I’ve seen her lately. And even though the styling is reminiscent of the 80’s – extreme eyes, frosty pink lips, Bangle-type hair, and large plastic bracelets, I love this edgy look on her. I keep doing double takes thinking she resembles a younger Meg Ryan, who was super popular during the eighties! Wonder if the makeup artist for this photo shoot carts their makeup around in Caboodles (Happy 25th anniversary to this makeup case by the way)??
Most people that lived through the 80’s complain that they never want to relive the way they looked from that era, but ironically, I find the 80’s creep into fashion and makeup ALL THE TIME! From obnoxious bracelet and necklace stacking (hello “arm party”- it’s not original to fashion blogs, Madonna was a pioneer for this look), messy undone hair (or called “beach waves” now), bright red statement mouth (never goes out of style), and wearing feminine undergarments as outerwear, it ALL circles back around.
