I have been all about the color these days when it comes to my makeup, from bright fuchsia lips to electric blue eyeliner. But some days, even a major makeup experimenter like myself, finds that a barely there neutral face works to like a charm and feels polished and sophisticated.
Chandelier earrings don’t hurt either to glam up a neutral face!
I would love to add these by Kate Spade New York to my chandelier collection.
I guess you could consider this blog a FOTD blog, which is popularly known as “face of the day” around the blogger world. I was taking my kids to the park for a birthday party, so I kept my look pretty low key. You might even say, chandelier earrings are a bit over the top for a park and why even both with makeup, but that’s not my style;-)

So my FOTD was super easy to achieve with a few key products:
Eyes: No frills and no multiple shadow colors used. I got a one stop shop shadow duo, L’Oreal Hip Studio Secrets Crystal Shadow duo in “Darling” and applied the bronze color from lash to crease and the champagne color in the tear duct area- that’s it. Amazing pigments for a drugstore brand shadow! For liner, just a swipe of “bronze edge” metalliner from mark cosmetics along the upper lash line. Along my inner waterline of my lower lashline, I lined them with my go-to ultra soft kajal liner by Stila in the perfect peach color, “topaz.” Lastly, 2 coats of L’Oreal Voluminous mascara in black-in the waterproof version because it doesn’t stray and holds eyelash curl better.
All shadow color kept on top, but you can see how the peach Stila liner makes the whites of my eyes pop!
Skin & Cheeks: No full coverage foundation here, just my Sonia Kashuk tinted moisturizer and YSL Touch Eclat in color 2 under my eyes. My cheeks are just a few swipes of my new favorite obsession, Too Faced Pink Leopard bronzer that has just enough pink in it you that you don’t need a separate blush if you’re going for low key. It’s got a lot of shimmer, which I like when used high on the cheekbones.
Lips: The easiest neutral gloss with good staying power, L’Oreal Infallible lipgloss in “barely nude.” That’s all you need!
