The No Fail Ponytail - JennySue Makeup

Ponytails are a must in my life. They are the reason I’ve kept my hair long for so long- really.

I’ve had short hair before, and when in a rush, you can’t fake it by throwing it up in a rubber band like you can with long hair. I need my long hair so I never have a “fail” day when it comes to my hair do.

So I figured I would share with you my No Fail Ponytail look. This look is for those days when a shampoo is not possible and neither is a blow out, curling iron, flat iron, you get my picture…no time. I got this bumped up pony (versus a sleek flat pony) idea from InStyle magazine here. And let me tell you, I’ve worn this look a lot lately.

Here is the way I do my easy pony in pictures!

Main ingredients :: John Frieda Dry Spray Shampoo & Goody tiny elastics

1. Spray greasy hair roots with a volumizing shampoo

2. Pull a large section of hair from temple to temple forward and clip off.

Then secure the leftover hair in back into a medium to high pony tail.

3. Take front section and tease at roots.

I use a small hair brush to make it look not too severe when teasing.

4. Take teased section then attach it onto the top of the first pony with another elastic.

5. If you have a little extra time, take a small piece from underneath the bottom

of the pony and wrap it around the elastic and secure w bobby pins. Makes it a bit more polished.

6. I like to push the front of the hair forward to give it the bump!

(yes, that’s a little person in the corner- he is one of the reasons I only have time for ponytails;-))

And of course, last but not least, it’s the fine details that make it work, that would be makeup. When time is of the essence and you need to look pulled together, add 2 more things to complete it:

a bright WOW lip color (LipFusion LipInfatuation in Lollipop $29).
BIG stud diamond earrings (can be fake or real, doesn’t matter. I choose fake bc I like them BIG and I can’t afford BIG real ones).
