My family recently took a road trip down to Florida for a beach getaway with friends.
(Mini film above produced + edited by JaWaVi Films – my talented hubs!)
This was our first beach trip of the summer. It was just the most relaxing and much needed vacation to round out this hectic school year – even with kids! And that’s hard to say “relaxing” AND “7 kids” in the same breath!! Ha!! We piled into our car and drove ourselves down to the beautiful and warm state of Florida to put our toes in the sand, soak up some rays, and drink margaritas from beach chairs – which we did very well.
See, I told you us mamas did margs + beach chairs well!! Having umbrellas + chairs right near the water, set up every morning for us by Live Well 30A made life soooo easy breezy! (photo by Amanda Pulley)
We went down there with my good friend, fellow Georgia girl, and style blogger, Lauren Lefevre of EditbyLauren.com and my new friend (introduced to me by Lauren!), Amanda Pulley of Vagabond Photography, who made the trip all the way from Texas with her family! We were all thrilled with the house we arrived at in Santa Rosa Beach that was smack dab ON the beach! That means the kids and parents could come and go as they pleased from the sand to the house without having to pack up a serious load of stuff (you know how family beach vacas can be when you’ve a gazillion bags, sand toys, and towels to tote around – #exhausting). We seriously had the absolute best time from a Thursday to Monday, I didn’t want it to end.
I know you saw the video which was a small sampling of the fun we had while in Florida, but here are a few photos if you’re interested. (Plus, links to some of the beauty + styles I wore while down there)
Fun Mom Trio – me, Lauren, and Amanda – can’t you see the excitement on our faces for being on vacation??
This is from the day we got there. Our whole family immediately took off our shoes and walked ran straight onto the beach. My lace up top ($38) is from Nordstrom.com here and my fringe sandals are an amazing price ($29) I ordered off of Payless Shoe Source here (they come in royal blue too!).
One of the cutest little places we ate at was called The Hub 30A. It is basically a gathering place where you could pick any type of food you wanted then all pick a table outside to eat on with large groups and listen to live music. GREAT family spot for dining and cocktails.
Vivian digging in the sand for hours. What a great toy a shovel and white sand make.
These Sole Society espadrilles were the perfect beach shoe ($59). and so comfortable, I can’t even explain!!! This camel color seriously goes with everything in my closet. My printed dress is Free People here – also comes in a lilac and black print ($88).
Live Well 30A offers bonfire set ups on the beach, so we decided to roast smores with the kids, and sit and chat the night away. this is such a lovely + fun activity to do while on vacation with children. I highly suggest it. (photo by Amanda)
Some of the products I packed with me that were perfect for simple beach looks : this curling wand for imperfect waves, my batiste dry shampoo, Garnier BB cream with sunscreen, Sole Society sun hat (only $38) + sunglasses of course, easy lip colors, the naked smoky palette, Maybelline Rocket Volum water proof mascara, and my fave summer nail polish by Essie “Bikini So Teeny.”
Live Well 30A also provides paddle boards for rent which sadly the waves were a bit rough during our trip, so Walker and I just stood on them for fun and pretended! It was this guys birthday the Friday we were down there, so needless to say, he ranked this birthday as one of the best ever! My 2 piece crochet halter swimsuit from Target.com here (yes, Target!). California beach trucker hat here.
Lauren and I were asked to be “models” for a shoot on the beach shot by Amanda for LiveWell’s newest tees and hats they have for sale. It was fun to pretend to be a real model!! Ha!! (photo by Amanda)
This beach getaway to Florida was super awesome and Live Well 30A made everything we did feel extra special. I don’t know why beach chairs and umbrellas and other tiny details make me so happy, okay, they take away a lot of extra effort!), but they do. Thanks for hosting us Live Well 30A – my kids are already asking when we can come back!
If you are planning on a Florida beach getaway down near the 30A area and would like for that vacation to be a little more special, then you are in luck!!
The concierge service, Live Well 30A, that provided us with the chairs, umbrellas, bicycles for the whole fam, and bonfire is offering to my JennySue Makeup readers, a 15% off discount for the services they provide! Just mention coupon code : JENNYSUEMAKEUP when contacting them!! How awesomely great is that?!
(And just a side note, our family road trip down to this vacation wasn’t exactly smooth – watch this fun behind the scenes video to see why!) And feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel while you’re over there!! Many thanks:)
